Erin Victor

Ottawa Occupational Therapist

Erin Victor completed her Master’s in Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2015 and an Honours Bachelor in Health from Queens University in 2009. She is a registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists (COTO) and is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT).

 

Erin has worked on the general surgery unit at Vancouver General Hospital and on the spinal cord injury unit and the neuromuscular skeletal unit at G.F. Strong in Vancouver. She completed a placement at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and found this to be very rewarding. When looking into the next steps she found pediatrics to be where her passion was. 

 

Erin enjoys working in pediatrics to assist children to develop functional skills and their full potential. In each session, functional activities, play skills, and sensory experiences are used to provide fun and engaging opportunities to allow the child to work towards their independence and achieve meaningful tasks. 

 

Erin’s Ottawa occupational therapy practice in targets several treatment strategies such as fine motor skills, gross motor skills, pre-printing skills, handwriting skills, emotional regulation, posture and core work, visual perceptual skills, sensory regulation, equipment needs, and activities of daily living (ADLs). Erin has completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and 12-hour Children’s  Yoga Teacher Training and uses many aspects of this in her practice with her pediatric clients.

 

Erin enjoys staying active by playing tennis, hiking, downhill skiing, hot yoga, and stand-up paddling. She loves to travel and has seen over 30 countries learning about different cultures and experiencing the landscapes each country has to offer.
